Meet The Guides

Kash Haley
Co-Owner & Operator

Fly fishing to Kash is not just recreation but, a necessity as much as oxygen is for life. When he decided to live in Rangeley full-time fly fishing was very much a determining factor. The quality of fishing that the area offered along with its rich history was enough for him to settle down. Kash has been fly fishing in Rangeley nearly his whole life and still fondly remembers his first introduction, on the fabled Kennebago River when he was only eleven years old. When you first meet Kash you’ll notice that he is a pretty big guy but his enthusiasm for fly fishing and guiding is an even greater presence. He loves to accompany clients along the river bank or simply talk fishing. Many of his clients comment on their enjoyment of his tasty streamside lunches, especially his grandmothers homemade pies. Kash has carried on a family tradition as a Registered Maine Guide since 1999.

Kris Thompson
Co-Owner & Operator

Kris is a life long Mainer and makes the majority of his living through guiding. He got his start in fly-fishing at the age of 9 from his dad. Since then, his fly fishing interests have lead him in travels all over Maine and throughout parts of the western United States. But, he is most at home and intrigued with the waters of the Rangeley Region. As a result, he lives with his wife and two sons almost within casting range of the Magalloway River. Kris spends a lot of time on the water, too much if you were to ask his beloved and understanding wife Liz! Kris has been a Registered Maine guide since 1997, and also is a certified (FFF) Federation of Flyfishers Casting Instructor.

Shelby Rouseau
Guide

Shelby is currently the natural resource director for Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust. She manages conservation land throughout the Rangeley Lakes Region, including the Rapid River, Rangeley River and the Lower Kennebago River corridors. Shelby also has a background in fisheries biology. You can’t ask for a much better background then that for a fly fishing guide! Who says girls can’t fish! Get hooked up with Shelby and not only catch fish but learn about the area and get a great lunch. If your lucky you may even get her famous chicken salad, Kris’s favorite! Shelby lives in Phillips almost within casting distance of the Sandy River
