Extended Season Waters
(October)

In Maine and specifically the Rangeley Region the general fishing season closes September 30th.  This is done to help protect those waters with wild self sustaining populations of brook trout and landlocked salmon during spawning.  Yet, there are still a fair amount of rivers and ponds that remain open thru the end of October and even November.  These waters are either stocked or don’t sustain naturally reproducing fish.  Think of it as a chance to scratch that itch to fish just a little bit longer.
